Postpartum Doesn’t Always Look the Same

When we talk about postpartum, we often talk about it like it has a clear beginning and a clear end.

Six weeks.

Three months.

A year.

But the truth? Postpartum doesn’t look the same for everyone.

You can absolutely adore motherhood. You can love your baby with your whole heart. You can feel grateful every single day.

And you can still struggle.

You can struggle to find time for yourself or the hobbies that once made you feel like you.

You can struggle with energy levels that feel impossible to explain.

You can feel disconnected, anxious, overwhelmed, or just… not quite right.

And sometimes it doesn’t even start right away.

For me, it was months later. There wasn’t a dramatic moment. There wasn’t a breaking point. It was just a slow realization that I didn’t feel like myself anymore.

There wasn’t one magic fix.

I went to the doctor.

I started seeing a therapist.

And little by little, day by day, things started to feel a bit brighter.

Not overnight. Not perfectly. Just gradually.

I adore my daughter. She is my entire world. But she deserves a healthy version of me — mentally, emotionally, and physically. And choosing to get help wasn’t weakness. It was love.

If you’re in this season right now, I want you to hear this clearly:

You are not failing.

You are not dramatic.

You are not alone.

Postpartum doesn’t run on a schedule. Healing doesn’t either.

But it does get lighter. 🤍
